Meet The Team


Debra L. Thompson – LCSW, CFSW, CADC, CCPG

Debra is Director and President of Thompson Social Services, Inc. in Pine Grove, Pa since its incorporation in 2011. Debra holds a B.S. in Rehabilitation Services Education from Pennsylvania State University and an M.S.W from Marywood University. She has provided administrative and direct clinical/behavioral health services to people in Pennsylvania for over 25 years. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pa. and holds specialized certifications in Financial Social Work, Addictions Counseling and Problem Gambling.

Aleea Penkauski – Financial Case Manager Supervisor

Aleea started with Thompson Social Services as a Financial Case Manager and through a lot of hard work and dedication to the company, was promoted to Financial Case Manager Supervisor. Aleea feels her personality truly shines in this role as she has always felt a strong urge to lead and support others. She has 15+ years of experience in Management, money management, cash handling and banking. Additionally, she has many years of personal experience related to Disability and mental health. “I knew this position would be right for me because I am a strong advocator and educator with a love of numbers. I can strongly relate to my clients and their struggles and this motivates me to do what I can to assist them in making their journey easier.”

Tori Roth – Financial Case Manager

Tori is a Financial Case Manager at Thompson Social Services. Her professional career began in 2017 providing peer-based services in the mental heath field. She obtained certifications as a CPS (2017), CRS (2019) and an Associate in Human Services (2009). Transitioning out of the community-based services, she found herself with Thompson Social Service in 2024, providing Financial Case Management to a diverse consumer base. “I value helping others and creating a rapport with the clients we serve. I enjoy educating new or existing clients regarding financial decisions and help them understand more about managing their funds.”

Edith Daubert – Lead Fiscal Specialist

Edie has always had a passion for helping others and truly enjoys working with people and numbers – especially finances. So, when the opportunity to join the team at Thompson Social Services presented itself in 2017, it seemed like a perfect fit. Edie is the lead Fiscal Services Specialist in TSS’s finance department and ensures that monthly financial activities (debits and credits) are processed for our clients in the most timely, accurate, and efficient manner possible. Prior to working at Thompson’s, Edie retired from a rewarding career with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s former Department of Public Welfare. Edie also cofounded and serves on the board of a local nonprofit food and life essentials pantry for needy people in her area. She resides in Pine Grove with her husband and enjoys time spent with family and home renovation/improvement projects.

Michelle OBrien – Fiscal Specialist

Michelle’s career has taken many paths since earning her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1992. After a few years of computer programming and networking, her passion led her to financial analysis and operations, and in 2005 she earned her MBA. Having worked in corporate, government, and non-profits she has always favored non-profits. She favors a position where she can be a part of a team that puts the needs of their clients as priority number one, and Thompsons Social Services does exactly that. “Our client’s financial stability is my main priority and I work to help each and every client to achieve this. In my free time, I enjoy cross-stitching, doing diamond art, and doing volunteer work.”
